Simulated Learning Centre UCRH, Lismore

The Nyumbalighu Simulation Centre at the University Centre for Rural Health in Lismore is now making it possible for more medical students to be enrolled and train locally.

Funding from the Federal Government assisted greatly towards the $3 million construction value of the project which is predicted to provide education and training to around 600 students in 2014.

The establishment of a clinical simulation facility and associated services on the UCRH site will enable teachers to simulate real life emergencies and health issues allowing students the chance to practice and be assessed on their performance before commencing practical training in local hospitals.

MDA Consulting Engineers were engaged by Health Projects International to provide mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and medical gasses engineering design services for the Nyumbalighu Simulation Centre.
