Steritech is a treatment provider for industries that require sterilisation and decontamination.
MDA were approached by Ridgemill Pty Ltd on behalf of Steritech to carry out Consulting Engineering services.
The project consisted of Steritech expanding their existing facility at Narangba to include new X-Ray sterilisation capabilities used to treat refrigerated products. Which involved extending the existing building to incorporate increased circulation space, new concrete bunker to house X-Ray sterilisation equipment and conveyors and new cold room.
The services MDA provided are as follows:
Mechanical Services
- Air-conditioning systems to Control Room & Modulator Room.
- Stage 1 Cold Rooms (performance based brief only for pricing by competent D&C Refrigeration Contractors).
Hydraulic Services
- Sanitary drainage within building to civil connection point adjacent to building.
- Stormwater roof drainage including from downpipes to civil stormwater drainage system adjacent to building.
- Drainage from air conditioning and cold room equipment tundish drains.
- Hydrant system complying with AS2419.
- Fire hose reel system complying with AS2441.
- Hot & Cold Water systems for wash down areas, hygiene areas etc.
Electrical Services
- Review site wide power to determine adequacy for new expansion.
- Connect to Energex infrastructure (if required).
- Upgraded consumer mains.
- Main Switchboard and metering.
- Base Building distribution switchboards to service light, power and future equipment.
- Submains to:
- Distribution Switchboards.
- Mechanical Services MSSB.
- Cold Room Equipment MCC.
- Conveyor System MCC.
- Hydraulic Services.
- Power and permanently connected outlets to general building areas for Base Building Only.
- Interior lighting to an illumination level as per clients brief or to BCA/AS1680 requirements.
- External lighting to Building Areas, Service Areas and the like.
- Emergency & Evacuation Lighting to BCA requirements.
- Security lighting to building.
- Earthing Systems.
- Cable management systems including cable trays, underground conduits and pits etc.
Communication & Security Systems.
- Base Building Telecommunications Services (as an expansion of existing system).
- Base Building Security monitoring and CCTV services (as an expansion of existing system).
Energex Padmount Transformer Applications < 1000 KVA
- Make Energex Connection Enquiry & Application for new Padmount Substation .
- Provide Energex layout for proposed padmount substation to gain Energex approval.
- Advise project manager of requirements to be provided by other disciplines.
- Obtain supply agreement from Energex.
