Located in the heart of Hervey Bay, the Pialba Place Shopping Centre is currently comprised of two single level segregated retail areas with a total floor area of 16,071m² as well as an adjoining carpark. MDA Consulting Engineers have been engaged by Amisco to provide the full mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and travellator engineering services for the refurbishment.
The plan for the new centre involves addressing the current layout issue to produce an internal link between both shopping centres with an alfresco style restaurant precinct, both of which will have a direct link to the adjacent carpark and the carpark below.
Changes to the entrances, centre logo and signage will allow for a more cohesive shopping experience while the relocation of loading docks will enable more efficient deliveries of stock to both major and botique stores.
The new restaurant precinct, which will be located on the new link between the malls will have set back shop fronts to create external seating areas that are protected from the elements by the roof of the new mall. Restaurant shop fronts will open completely to unify the precinct and create a seamless transition from inside to outside.
