The new 3,950m² Corporate Express warehouse in Townsville was developed on a 9,500m² parcel of land within the industrial suburb of Mt St John. The building will serve as a bulk distribution centre and office complex for its northern Queensland operations.
MDA were contracted by McVeigh Consultants to design the Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic engineering services, also complete a BCA section J Energy Compliance Review & Certification for the site.

- Ventilation systems provide to necessary room’s and toilets, air-conditioning provided to office and customer areas by air –cooled package roof mounted units, Air distribution by means of acoustically lined duct work and registers sized to meet building thermal/ equipment load, two stage smoke and ventilation fans to warehouse.
Electrical, Lighting, Communication & Security Systems Consulting Services
- Connection to supply authority sub-station, consumer mains, new main switchboard and house metering, department distribution switchboards, Submains to (distribution switchboards, mechanical Services equipment, Hydraulic Services), power and permanently connected outlets, automatic smoke detection alarm system, highbay lighting between isle racking to BCA requirements, emergency exit, security, signage and carpark lighting , Building telecom frame, cat 6 voice and data cabining to work areas, data patch rack and network hubs, security system & CCTV camera.
Hydraulic Consulting Services
- Investigation of existing hydraulic services, sanitary drainage within building to existing sewer connection, drainage from air conditioning equipment tundish drains, Water supply to fixtures (cold, hot, rainwater and non- potable), Gutter and inground downpipe drainage, roof water storage and rainwater service, external hose cocks and landscape irrigation, hydrant and fire house reel service.
