After decades of planning, the Westfield Shopping Centre has been constructed on a site next to Coomera Train Station and just 500 metres from the M1 Pacific Motorway, as a greenfield town centre development within the Gold Coast’s northern growth corridor.
The 59,000 sqm site off Foxwell Road has been transformed into a “new benchmark dining, lifestyles and entertainment destination”, featuring 140 speciality stores, a fashion retailer area, a bright two-level alfresco dining and entertainment precinct, market-style fresh food, quick eateries and a never-seen-before purpose-built and expertly curated outdoor space for children and families. Among its major tenants are Woolworths, Coles, Kmart, Target, JB Hi-Fi, Rebel and Event Cinemas (including Gold Class).
Completed in 2018, the $470 million development delivered an unrivalled experience in retail, dining, lifestyle and entertainment to the fast-growing corridor on the Gold Coast.
Our scope of service was to audit the design documentation produced by Stowe Australia or their suppliers, provide design verification confirming compliance with the contract, and provide RPEQ design certification for the following systems:
- Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems
- High Voltage Infrastructure Services
MDA Consulting Engineers provided building design audit and certification services for the Coomera Town Centre development.
- Basement, on ground and above ground carparking.
- Level 1 specialty shops and restaurants, kiosks, mini majors and major tenancies.
- Level 2 specialty shops and restaurants, kiosks, mini majors and cinemas.
- Level 3 plant rooms and service areas.
